Bishop Peter Ingham,
Bishop of Wollongong

Peter William Ingham is the current Catholic Bishop of Wollongong. Born and raised in Sydney, Bishop Ingham was ordained a priest in 1964. In his early ministry in the Archdiocese of Sydney he served as Assistant Priest in Rosebery, Newtown, St Marys and Auburn South. He was ordained as an Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney in 1993 by His Eminence Cardinal Edward Clancy, and installed as the fourth Bishop of Wollongong on 25 July 2001.

In 2013 Bishop Ingham celebrated the 20th anniversary of his episcopal ordination and celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in 2014.
