2.5 Workshop:

‘Metanoia’ and Mission in Mark: An Ecological Exploration

This workshop will comprise of:

1. A short PowerPoint introduction to the topic including:

• a suggested framework for understanding the Gospel as an invitation to Mission through Metanoia;
• • a brief introduction to the principles of ecological interpretation (in empathy/identification with the whole Earth community; recognising the anthropocentric and androcentric nature of the text; with a will to retrieve the lost agency and voice of Earth); and

2. An exploration of selected Markan texts.

Participants will be invited to explore the selected texts alone, to share their insights in small groups, and to present to the whole group using any medium they choose (mime, poetry, drawing, verbal explanation, other).
