2.2 Workshop:

God’s Creation and Faith – Common Ground!

Presenter: Ms Anne Lanyon, Deputy Director, Columban Mission Institute, Co-ordinator, Centre for Peace, Ecology and Justice

There is an urgent imperative to listen to what the Earth is saying about what human behaviour is doing to God’s creation. This provides an opportunity for people of different faith traditions to listen, learn and share their mutual appreciations and concerns which in turn lead to positive action. There is also a need for people of faith to dialogue with science. People are surprised that the Faith Ecology Network (FEN, which includes people from Aboriginal, Anglican, Bahai’i, Buddhist, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Hindu, Islamic, Jewish, Quaker and Uniting Church traditions) has been doing this since 2003. Some FEN representatives will participate with you in this workshop.
