The Voice of the Child – Help Me Come Close to God – By Myself!

Presenter: Ms Angela Hague, CGS Catechist; Level One (3-6 year olds) Formation Leader, National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Aust)

This workshop will present an approach to working with young children to help them develop their own authentic relationship with God, which is based on the two pillars of the Church – Scripture and Liturgy. Participants will explore the general capacities of the 3-6 year old child and how we can best serve them if we know how to prepare an environment that meets these needs and we know how to observe and serve the child in this environment.

This workshop will be especially helpful for participants who want to know better how to serve the youngest members of their community. This is a ministry which is often mis-understood and under- valued – yet is one of great joy and privilege for those who are called to work in it.

This workshop will include some practical presentations for this age child, as well as time for personal reflection, discussion and questions.
