Welcome and let’s join together in living the joy
of the Gospel
We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters, culture and community. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future, and we thank and honour them for their sacrifice and stewardship.
Welcome to 2014 and we hope it is a joyful year for your work in mission.
The last days of 2013 saw much talk and activity around the Apostolic Exhortation published by Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium. Catholic Religious Australia and Catholic Mission welcomed this much anticipated document and asked 12 leaders from various Catholic ministries to write their response to the work. The result produced The Francis Effect: Living the Joy of the Gospel, a book full of valuable insight and reflection that we believe will speak across our communities in many different ways.
Despite the rush of Christmas, the closing of offices and the joy of holidays, the book was well received and hundreds of books ordered. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to CLICK HERE to take a look at the book, available online or CLICK HERE to order your copy.
The coming year will see the Apostolic Exhortation and the teachings of Pope Francis at the core of our formation for mission. As an extension of the document and book, Colloquium events across Australia will bring together Australian Catholic leaders for a day of professional development. We invite and encourage you to attend and help us engage with what it means to be living and leading mission and evangelisation in Australia today. For more information CLICK HERE.
Since the Mission: one heart many voices conference last April, we have been encouraged and supported through feedback and consultation to create a continuing open space to keep alive the spirit, enthusiasm and sharing that emerged. This website hub, The Francis Effect, Colloquiums and other events are each part of all we hope to achieve, and we encourage you to engage in whatever way best suits your needs. We welcome you, your ideas, and encourage you to keep us informed of what is happening in your part of the world which we will happily promote on this website.
We look forward to a year of living and leading mission together.
